If a result suggests something that needs further evaluation, Dr. Kingan will tell you directly and recommend appropriate next steps, which may include following up with your primary care provider or a specialist.
No. Sapere Health is private, direct-pay testing, so it isn't covered by MSP. That's what lets us offer advanced panels without a referral or wait. Some patients claim costs through a Health Spending Account or extended benefits.
Some tests are appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding and some are not — hormone reference ranges in particular shift significantly during these periods, which can make results difficult to interpret. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend coordinating testing with your maternity care provider. Contact us before ordering and we'll help you determine whether a given panel is suitable.
The public system rarely orders advanced or preventive markers without a diagnosed condition — and usually gives you numbers without interpretation. Sapere gives direct access to comprehensive panels, no referral, plus a written analysis from Dr. Kingan explaining what your results mean. We complement primary care; we don't replace it.

You choose the method that fits the panel and your preference.
After you order, we contact you within 1–2 business days to schedule at a time and location that suit you. A certified phlebotomist arrives with all supplies, performs the draw — usually about 10 minutes — and handles all packaging and transport to the laboratory. There's nothing for you to prepare.
Yes. Kits use validated collection methods processed at accredited diagnostic laboratories. Following the included instructions — timing, labelling, prompt return — is what ensures a reliable result.
Usually fixable. If a sample is insufficient, the lab flags it and we arrange a replacement collection at no cost. Contact us as soon as you notice.
Depends on the panel. Glucose, insulin, and lipids need a 10–12 hour fast; most hormone tests don't, though some are best collected in the morning.
